La face froide refroidit l&rsquo;\u00e9chantillon tandis que la chaleur de la face chaude se dissipe dans l&rsquo;air par convection.<\/p>\n<p>A une temp\u00e9rature de surfusion d\u00e9finie, le processus de cong\u00e9lation est lanc\u00e9 en introduisant une aiguille contenant des cristaux de glace dans le tube. Celle-ci fait partie de la t\u00eate de mesure sur laquelle est plac\u00e9 le tube. La t\u00eate de mesure est fix\u00e9e \u00e0 des tiges de guidage qui la prot\u00e8gent contre tout dommage accidentel. \u00c0 une surfusion d\u00e9finie, le processus de cong\u00e9lation est d\u00e9clench\u00e9 en introduisant une aiguille contenant des cristaux de glace dans le tube. Le point de cong\u00e9lation de l'\u00e9chantillon est atteint. La m\u00e9thode d'initiation du processus de cong\u00e9lation est importante pour la reproductibilit\u00e9 des mesures. Tremper une aiguille avec des cristaux de glace dans l'\u00e9chantillon donne des r\u00e9sultats plus pr\u00e9cis que l'agitation avec un fil m\u00e9tallique constamment plong\u00e9 dans l'\u00e9chantillon. En raison de la corr\u00e9lation lin\u00e9aire entre la molalit\u00e9 et le point de cong\u00e9lation, la mesure du point de cong\u00e9lation est une d\u00e9termination de la molalit\u00e9.
